sewn (2025)

sewn is an immersive guzheng, movement and mark-making performance presented as part of the Auckland Pride Festival for a live audience. The work examines queer visibility through a Chinese migrant lens, asking how a racialised, gender-nonconforming body can be sustained through sonic experimentation, material encounter and durational movement. Made with support from the Pride Empowerment programme. Documented in collaboration with cinematographer Nick Willoughby and photographer Karen Ishiguro. Live soundscape by Jefferson Chen (Goodspace), with movement coaching by Zoe White.
