“What does it mean to be home?” Vessel 容器 is a contemplation of the journey of assimilation. Born from a place of necessity and urgency, the afab non-binary immigrant artist Zed Xu bound their chest to experiment with forms of bodily presentation and autonomy. The performative painting practice invites the audience to follow the sensory experience where salt, biodegradable Chinese calligraphy ink, and movement grant newly found feelings of belonging.
